now seems to me I have a better overall experience in 4. I now finally have found myself using DS4 almost exclusively, and everything I used to find was better, stronger, faster in 3. For quite some time I was stuck on DS3, and every time I tried DS4 I had nothing but problems, and kept going back to 3. Just wanted to throw my two cents in, from a former "fellow DS4 hater". With the surfeit of Genesis-only products, and now this, it's amazing how much money DAZ is willing to lose by trying to force users to move up to a version they hate. There is a huge community that won't go to 4.0 or 4.5 because of the horrid, laothesome interface. Yet another method by which DAZ shoots itself in the foot. It says DAZ Studio 4.5 on the Product Page, so I don t imagine it works in DS4.0 either, sorry Select the materials you want to tile and do the Luxus - LuxRender material action, choose the "Only Extra Settings" for the type, accept, find the LuxRender extra settings parameter and paste the following into it. There is a workaround for anyone willing to dabble. The tiling is an oversight, I know a big one, but will be fixed as a soon as possible. jpgįrom those renders it appears as if Luxus has some sort of tiling problem. Only post-work is to add text and save as. Back wall and floor are DAZ Primitive planes (Medium Wood shader from Wood Shaders applied).Įach LuxRender render ran for around 30 minutes (I really should have noted how many S/p! Next time, maybe!) Scene consists of one Genesis basic female (Daiyu textures) with YDress (supplied Black textures applied), Gene Stockings, OTPumps, VidaHair Cyborg Version 4 (with server, ray-traced textures) and V4 face prop added. Took just shy of 30 minutes as a 'plain' 3Delight render (shadows were set to ray-traced on light). Only 'allowances' made is the naming of the single distant light as Sun (to allow Reality to pick it up) and Adding the Luxus light property to it (for Luxus to treat it as sunsky2). When applying all leather shaders DS4.5 warns a missing file (black lights.A very quick (and unfair-ish) test. Thank you very, very much for these! I'm going to get a lot of use out of them! First effort to apply one of the leather shaders and DAZ 4.5 crashed. I could make a pack that has only the Studio settings, if you are interested? I wouldn't know for sure, since I do have the plug-in. Tjeb1453, do you have the Luxus plug-in? It may be that the shaders don't work if the plug-in is not installed, since it has elements specifically made for Luxus. I thought that it could work BOTH in DAZ (as stand-alone) and in Luxrender via Luxus. I think it is superfluous because the shader loads notwithstanding the error. Thanks for the update! Now DS 4.5 warns another missing file: /data/Slosh/Product/Ottoman/UV Sets/Slosh/Base/default.dsf. I combed over the files in text editor to see if all references looked right, and AFAIK they are good. Thanks again, marcoio! Should be all set now. Leather shaders were calling for UV's on object I tested them on. Thank you so much, i was searching for this for some days!

Thanks so much, you can never have enough shaders! Pouf Ottoman used in promo images by Luxxeon (shareCG) « Lessįormat: Daz Studio 4.5 ( *.duf *.dson), Other Good luck, and enjoy! Use them any way you want, even commercially, but give me a nod in your readme file. To get other colors, simply subtract the R, G, and B colors from 255. So, for example to get white, make Absorption color black. For Luxus, you must change the Glossy Translucent Absorption color, but remember that the absorption color is the inverse of the color you want. You can recreate your own colors in DS by changing the diffuse color. They look better on clothing than they do on the ottomans in the promo images.

The shaders are optimized for Luxus, but have included settings for DAZ Studio. All will render in both DAZ Studio and in LuxRender via the Luxus plugin. Six leather shaders and four vinyl shaders. *Updated 04/16/13 to fix reference to non-existent file Leather and Vinyl Shaders for DAZ Studio 4.5 and Luxus for LuxRender
